Dear Sandy,

How many hours have we talked away? How many times have we been there for one another? There is so much about you that I can recall ………….

You are a very special friend who is always available to help everyone.

You are a great listener - you comment when necessary or just listen.

You always go the extra mile for your students, family and friends.

You give so much of yourself and expect little if anything in return.

You are by far the most professional teacher I have ever worked with.

You continually take classes and seminars so that your students will always have the latest materials to learn from.

You always share your wealth of knowledge with your colleagues.

Your students are so lucky that you do so many special things for them.

Remember all the pictures you took of each student in your class so you could make an individual memory book for them. You stayed up all night to complete those books. I do hope your students and their parents appreciated all your efforts.

Remember all the hours you spent during conference time to prepare for each child's conference and to accommodate every child’s parents schedule? You were at school very early for working parents and very late for other parents.

A 7:45 AM to 3:00 PM day was never your way. I think you opened the school and closed the school every day. When I passed the parking lot, your car was almost always the only car left.

You always participated in Spirit Days and encouraged your class to participate.

You were always up for a challenge - no matter what that challenge was.

You received the coveted "Teacher Of The Year" distinction for our district and there was not anyone more deserving.

You are a very special friend and now that the last day of your teaching career is over, I hope you have nothing but happiness in your retirement.

Love and Hugs,

Lynne

Sandy ----------------------

Enjoying retirement is easy, if you remember the basics ---

Retirement is just another name for ADVENTURE .

It is a time to TRAVEL to those places you have always wanted to go.

Dream some NEW DREAMS - and follow those dreams.

Master the fine art of RELAXATION. Take a nap or just put your feet up

and do nothing.

ENJOY the everyday miracles you were probably too busy to notice and enjoy until now. (The smell of a rose, chirp of a bird, beauty of the clouds, song of the rain, and all the changes that occur with each new season.)

Take time to wonder at all you have ACCOMPLISHED.

If you catch yourself saying, "you know what I'd like to do," WHY NOT DO IT?

TAKE GOOD CARE of yourself - it's your turn now.

All our best wishes,

Dick and Lynne
